As we look to begin the 2020 camping season we still find ourselves several weeks away from the traditional ramp up of the busy summer camping season. We are currently enacting action plans for safe operation of our park during these challenging times. Conditions are changing and we are adjusting our policies and procedures as new information and orders are released by government and public health officials.
We understand you may have many questions about your upcoming visit to Genesee Otter Lake Campground and what that visit might end up looking like. The fact of the matter is, it is too soon to tell exactly what restrictions or limitations might be in place at the time of your visit. We do however want to provide some information as to the steps we are implementing early in the season upon opening, as well as our plans if conditions remain challenging. Our goal is to meet or exceed your expectations for sanitation and a safe experience during your stay. We reserve the right to modify these policies as conditions change.
Face Coverings:You will be required to bring and wear a face covering in enclosed public spaces as recommended. This includes our store, restrooms. We realize not everyone is on the same page when it comes to face coverings, but to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety this will be a mandatory requirement until such time as it is not advised by health officials.
Check-In Procedures:Upon arriving to the park there will be a limit of 1 person per vehicle permitted to enter the store and check in everyone in the vehicle. Also, there will be a limit of how many people are allowed in the store at one time. To promote low contact and expedient check-in, we strongly encourage all guests to pre-pay for their camping, trip fees online or over the phone well ahead of their arrival.
Camping:Campers will be encouraged to keep a safe reasonable distance away from others that are not in their immediate family or from the same household. There is plenty of room on our 100 acres to spread yourselves out. Perhaps instead of 1 fire pit for the group, you spread out across your reserved sites. Please do not visit neighboring campsites with people who are not part of your group.
Camp Store/Registration Office:Our campground store/registration office will be open. 6 feet social distancing will need to be maintained at all times. Plexiglass screens have been installed between our staff and customers.
We are also please to announce a online Camp Store option to purchase items from the store available for pick up or delivered to your campsite for a delivery fee. The Camp Store will be accessible via the phone to purchase items such as wood, marshmallows, ice, etc. from your campsite without the need to step foot in our store.
Recreation Center / Game Room:This facility will remain closed for the time being until conditions allow for it to open.
Bottle Return:We will not be accepting bottle returns until conditions allow for it to resume. We encourage you to keep your returnables and bring them home so you can return them once it is acceptable to do so at your local bottle return location.
We will provide updates should there be any changes in our activities or policies.
Stay safe and well,
